As the sun comes out after a cold, rainy winter, flowers burst into view all over the national park. They perfume the parks and hang in colorful flowers from trees. This is the best time of year in my delightful park, and the long vacation allow for plenty of time to enjoy the beauty and fun that Taiwan has to offer.
One of my favorite thing to do on a spring weekend is to go to the downtown. The friendly sellers have a lot to display, from berries so sweet that your tongue tingles, to mushrooms picked in the forests. Better yet, everyone is offering samples, so you can fill up on the freshest foods around.
If I'm still hungry, I stop by something that night market is quickly becoming famous for. I can take a tour of the food just by working from booth to the next. I may have a oster omelet from one, sinky tofu from the next, and a bubble tea from another. Then I carry my treats down the lake and take in the beautiful view of the boats and waterfall.
